Why You’ll Adore Them:  Swimming defines themselves as “experimental,” “pop,” or “surf.”  I would define them as “alternative.”  But regardless of how you want to classify the genre, the facts are crystal clear.  Swimming is incredible.

They are a band from Nottingham, UK a place I’ll always want to go. hy is that the UK always harbors such talented bands?  A band of five John Sampson, Peter Sampson, Andrew Wright, Jonathon Spittlehouse, and Blake Pearson are names I am desperately trying to engrave in my mind.  They are far too good to go so unnoticed much longer.  I can feel their explosion, it’s coming soon.

The composition of this music has no other name to go by - it’s simply intense.  If one thing in their music was different, it would be totally weird.  It’s amazing how everything works together, so heavily relying on one another.  Would you notice how amazing the voice is without the rest of the music?  I’m not sure I would.

They sound like Wiretree, The Last Royals, Semi-Precious Weapons, 311, or Deep Sea Arcade. To be honest, I’ve always had a hard time with techno or even close-to-techno sounding bands.  I feel like they are only appropriate at certain times and certain places.  But I don’t feel that way at all when I listen to Swimming.   The only feeling I get is that I need more and more of this band if I want to survive.  They are like water and I am the helpless fish, dead without it.
