Who: Anya Marina

Song:  Felony Flats

Soft Rock, almost Pop, with a tinge of both Folk

Why You’ll Adore Her:

Anya Marina is a truly astonishing artist.  She has a voice that is as unique and easy to pinpoint as today’s pop queen’s – Adele.  Anya Marina creates music that is seemingly immortal.  If you like Hana Pestle, Metric, The Head and the Heart or even Mumford and Sons, Anya Marina is the next must-hear artist that should be on your radar. - Jadyn

Who:  To Speak Of Wolves

Song: Rearview Memories

Hardcore with a street-poet soul

Originating from Greensboro, North Carolina, members from other established bands came together to form To Speak Of Wolves. On the surface, this 11-track album comes off as a run of the mill Christian metal album, with screaming vocals and guitar riffs galore. Once you get past that initial layer, there is a raw and genuine feeling that comes across on this disc. An example of this is track two, “Rearview Memories.” This song opens with a girl praying to God about saying goodbye to a loved one who has passed away. Later in this track, there is a boy who is praying a similar prayer. It is deep, unsettling, and incredibly moving. Whether you are religious or not this garners a listen to those who have tried to find meaning in this life we lead. -Randall

Who: The Letter Black
Song: Better Luck Next Time

Two years ago, The Letter Black unleashed their guitar-crunching sensibilities in the form of Hanging On By A Thread. Though it went on to be one of the best-selling debuts in Tooth & Nail Records’ history, their hard rock offering wasn’t loved by critics that much, But their remix record is one that truly seems to be a pleasant surprise. Although a full-length remix record is an interesting entry in the band’s catalog, both listeners who have yet to be won over and hardcore fans alike are hungry for a record of all-new material, nevertheless it has some truly remarkable moments Check it out. -JFH

Who: We Rob Banks
Song: Headlights
Chick-fronted Eclectic Aussie Rock

Now here are some musicians who know how to capture the soul of rock and roll. We’ve been talking up our boys in Hands Like Houses for over a year now but you’ve gotta meet their mates from Melbourne, Australia for a whole new spin on the flavor from down under. As punky as Paramore and thunderously enjoyable as all the most beautiful parts of A Day To Remember, this is the version of Tonight Alive that no one has told you about yet. It’s energetic, delightful, and absolutely delectable to listen to at times. Lead by charismatic leadwoman Rebecca Hammond, give them a listen and make sure you get your hands on their brand new EP: The House Of Gonzo. -Randall
