The contemporary music scene is far too crowded. The Biebers, the Gagas, the Will I. Am’s and the Cyruses of the world have taken humanity’s most powerful of artforms on a hell march to degradation and mediocrity.
Music is power. Music is more than a constant consumption of factory produced copycatting. Few artforms in this world have more ability to induce change. While many people don’t understand sculpture or poetry everyone loves music in some form or another.
There once was a time where music existed beyond the Pandora box and the myspace realm, it used to be played on radios and television. The after midnight hours were a time when the djs and disc jockeys could stop playing the top 40 drek and were free to play what they loved the listen on their own time. It was the midnight bandwidth, a collection of unknown and unsigned artists who performed not for fame or popularity but for the art of it.
This blog seeks to show the power, splendor, and artistic side of music. Music is more than chart-chasing, when harnessed correctly it can be life changing. Here we’ll use terms like “under the radar” and “little known” but we do not mean this in a degrading way. TMB does not differentiate by genre, style, or contemporary moniker; if it’s good music we’ll promote it. We mean to show that the best music out there is often what you’ve never heard before.
We provide free, no strings attached promotion for bands and acts looking to break out. We’ll cover anyone looking for some exposure. Even if you only have 112 followers on your facebook page and can’t get a gig outside of an open mic event; if you make good music you’ve found a place to belong here. We will treat you the same way we’d treat a major label band, with respect and admiration.
We are proud to be a part of the tumblr community and our posts will appear here first, exclusively, before they appear on other social medias.
Open your minds, expand your horizons, turn the dial to the bandwidth of the music that can change and impact. Follow us here for the best music you’ve never heard of.
